“Badlands”据称改编自中国的四大名著之一《西游记》（Journey to the West），是一部以武术为主题，混杂其他元素的剧集。该剧讲述在一个被封建伯爵统治的国度里，一位伟大的战士和一个小男孩携手踏上旅程，克服重重危机，寻找理想极乐世界的故事。
　　这部“Badlands”预计将于2015年年底或2016年播出，总共六集。本剧由《超人前传》（Smallville）的编剧及监制阿尔·格尔（Al Gough）和米尔斯·米拉尔（Miles Millar）创作，史黛西·舒尔（Stacey Sher）与迈克尔·山姆伯格（Michael Shamberg）担任制片人，武术指导则为中国观众熟悉的吴彦祖（Daniel Wu）和冯德伦（Stephen Fung）。Entertainment One公司负责国际发行。[1]
