　　就在迪伦最春风得意的时刻，三个客人的到来彻底改变了他的生活。埃莱娜（娜塔莎·金斯基 Nastassja Kinski 饰）和霍普（萨拉·波莉 Sarah Polley 饰），一个是弱不禁风的中年妇人，一个是瘦小苍白的稚嫩女童，她们两人的真实身份，竟然是迪伦在早年抛弃的妻子和女儿。另一位是名叫达格里斯（韦斯·本特利 Wes Bentley 饰）的男人，他的存在对于小镇的存亡来说至关重要。
