　　美国铸币厂员工哈利路卡斯不慎弄坏五万块，却没有一丝证据可证明他的清白。于是他请退休的印刷工帕伯吉利斯及高超的保险箱窃贼艾维利杜刚协助窃取铸模。在牢里因故失去听力的杜刚从当铺老板路瑟波顿那里得到一付助听器，波顿得知他们的计划后也打算要参与。担任这个阴谋的"经理”的路瑟又网罗了在下水道工作，可帮助他们到达铸币厂的罗夫，及儿童游乐场”游船”的操作人员，可帮忙大伙在下水道航行的船长，还有冰淇淋小贩，可作为吸引美丽又好事的维娜的诱饵。最后，足以让所有专业罪犯感到尴尬的，在维娜于”入侵”当日成功地被分散注意力之际，哈利的这群满脑子钱的杂牌军得以带着他们偷印的七百万元逃逸！
