　　数十年不遇的灾难袭击了内布拉斯加州的加特林镇，男孩艾塞克（普利斯顿·贝利 Preston Bailey 饰）自命受到上帝的指引，他声称大人的罪恶污染了整个世界，现在到了赞美上帝净化世界的时候了。镇上的孩子们在艾塞克的率领下杀死了所有的成人，加特林成了名副其实的儿童之镇。

　　数年后，退伍老兵伯顿（戴维·安德斯 David Anders 饰）和妻子维姬（Kandyse McClure 饰）驾车旅行，却迷路来到加特林镇。两人一路争吵，结果不慎撞上一名小男孩。伯顿下车检查尸体，发现男孩在死之前就已被割断喉咙。由于缺少通讯设备，伯顿驾车驶入小镇，希望通报这一蹊跷状况。却不知，他们已经一步步走入孩子们布置的死亡陷阱之中……
