◎简　　介

　　一系列手法怪异且毫无动机的连环杀人案让FBI特别行动组特工乔（杰弗里·迪恩·摩根 饰）和女搭档凯瑟琳（艾比·考尼什 饰）一筹莫展。迫于无奈，他们只得邀请隐居的通灵神探约翰（安东尼·霍普金斯 饰）重出江湖。

　　在追查线索的过程中，约翰赖以成名的读取过去、感知未来的通灵能力接连遭到挑战。藏在暗处的连环杀手（科林·法瑞尔 饰）好似开了天眼，不仅再度行凶，甚至在犯罪现场留下纸条，写明警方的到达时间进行挑衅。

　　随着案情逐渐明朗，约翰才意识到，原来这个连环杀手有着比自己更强的通灵能力，之前追查案情时所找到的“线索”，全是杀手故意留下的！就在这场灵能对决即将陷入完败之时，连环杀手却主动现身，将杀人动机与约翰痛苦的过去联系在一起。
