◎简　　介

　　一艘从金星返回地球的宇宙飞船,坠毁在海洋上。其中有两名生还者,卡达上校和夏门博士。有群西西里渔民将他们拯救上岸,一名当地捕鱼的小男孩发现一个奇怪的罐子,里面装了状似胚胎的动物,小男孩便将此罐子卖给动物学家。美国国防部派开始搜寻失事的宇宙飞船,而卡达上校也清醒过来,并警告众人罐子内的生物乃是金星人,将会以极快地速度成长。金星人逃脱并躲到罗马的动物园,美国国防部也派人追赶在后。金星人已长成如高楼般的巨大怪兽,并惹起一阵混乱与众人的恐慌。金星怪兽最后和一只大象展开决斗。在众多人类与怪兽对抗电影中,本片堪称杰作。
