　　丹尼（方·基默 Val Kilmer 饰）从前拥有一个幸福的家庭，和妻子之间十分的恩爱。然而，不幸降临在了这个家庭之中，丹尼的妻子死在了毒贩的手中，而丹尼则成为了这一场惨剧的目击者。愤怒而又绝望的丹尼发誓要替妻子报仇，他前往洛杉矶大名鼎鼎的沙顿海，那里是毒贩和黑手党的聚集地，他要杀的人就在那里。
　　丹尼隐姓埋名成为了警方的线人被安插在贩毒团伙之中，在寻仇的过程中，丹尼渐渐的迷失了自我，对他自己所做的一切事情的意义产生了怀疑，唯一支撑着他继续走下去的，便是妻子温柔的面庞。不仅如此，丹尼还有这一个音乐梦，他随身携带着一支小号，奏响自己的命运。
