　　奥利弗·斯通拍完两部越战片之后作新尝试，针对电台广播节目的社会效应作深入探讨。男主角巴瑞查伯宁，是一位能言善道而愤世嫉俗的电台抓狂夜谈节目主持人。他善引导打电话进来表达意见的听众侃侃而谈，并且对讲座的热门话题常有一针见血的评论，因此使节目获得很高的收听率，并且使他赢得全国性联播的机会。然而，就在成功与声望唾手可得之际，工作伙伴以及被他激怒的广播听众，一齐进入了不可知的危险状态之中，并且埋下了震撼性的杀机。男主角埃里克．博高桑，同时也是本片的编剧之一。影片的原始构想取自真人真事，描述丹佛市广播节目主持人阿伦伯格由于敢作敢言，于1984年被新纳粹分子所暗杀。编导对一些电台叩应节目哗众取宠，将个人隐私当作娱乐商品来贩卖的歪风提出有力批判，处理扎实有力
